all about POLICIES
Season
Our season consists of 35 weeks (34 weeks of classes, 1 week for performance) for both SPARKS (Pre-K thru Kinder) and FORCE (1st-Adult) students. Classes start at the beginning of September and run through the end of May, with our Spring Recital occurring in late May/early June. In addition, we offer a mid-year Winter Showcase “Excerpts from the Nutcracker” in December. View our Season Calendar here.
We allow new and returning students to join classes any time until the end of November. After that, we begin choreography for the show for the regular season classes. New students may no longer enroll in these classes, however, we offer session classes of 8 or 10 weeks throughout January-May for those getting a late start due to sports and other activities. Session classes are not included in our recital.
We also offer summer camps and intensives throughout June-August. Be sure to see our class schedule for current availability.
Tuition
There is a $30 registration fee per family annually. This will be charged with your first month’s tuition.
Tuition is based on the 35 week season and is charged monthly over 10 months from September-June. These amounts account for holidays and shorter months. Since our Intensive Ballet program meets 4 hours per week, we offer a discounted rate for those participating in those programs, as well as a maximum tuition for students participating in multiple classes/programs.

Recital
We offer a winter showcase (for FORCE) and 2 spring recitals (for FORCE and SPARKS). The winter showcase is optional and offered outside of regular classes (information provided early in the season). The spring recitals are for all seasonal classes and are held at the end of the season in late May/early June. This is a great opportunity for our students to perform and share all that they have learned throughout the year with their family and friends.
Our FORCE (1st-Adults) spring performance is held in late May/early June and lasts 2-3 hours. Expect to have additional rehearsals at the venue the week of the show.
Our SPARKS program (Pre-K thru Kinder) have their own special show. We want our little ones to have a positive stage experience. Our SPARKS Show is held the same weekend of the spring FORCE recital with a real stage. The difference is that we keep the house lights up and parade the students through the aisle, so that they can see their families before they perform. This gives them the confidence to perform at their very best.
Recital Fees
Our recital fees consist of a participation fee and a costume fee. Our spring recital participation fees are as below, and are the same for SPARKS or FORCE classes:
-
- Participation Fee: $120 per family, includes:
- 1 Recital T-Shirt
- 1 HD Download of Performance
- 4 Tickets to Show ($48-$80 value)
- Costume Fee: $90 per costume, includes:
- Costume
- Tights, if needed
- Participation Fee: $120 per family, includes:
Recital fees will be placed on your account on November 1st of the current season, and will be charged to the card on file on December 1st, to allow for on-time ordering of costumes for the June recital.
We assume that all of our students will perform in our end of season shows. However, we realize the stage isn’t for everyone, nor is it the only reason to learn dance. If you or your student are unable or uninterested in performing, you must notify us via email ([email protected]) prior to October 1st so that you are not charged the recital fees. If this deadline is missed, you may be subject to costume return fees or other charges.
Attendance
We understand that classes may be missed due to illness, vacations or other reasons. While we do not offer refunds for missed classes, we do allow and encourage make-up classes. Please let a staff member know about absences as soon as possible via call/text at 937-280-4188, email at [email protected] or via a message on the BAND app. We will work with you to find a make-up class time.
Additionally, we allow 2 unexcused absences from January-June. Any additional absences will require a make-up class or you may not be allowed to perform in the recital. This ensures fairness to all students in the class working on the recital piece as it becomes difficult to learn and practice a recital piece with minimal class participation.
Class Changes & Withdrawals
We want you to be happy with your decision to join our family and will do whatever it takes to make your time with us enjoyable!
When you pick a class, we assume you will be staying through the season, but we understand life happens. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your choice, we will take the necessary steps to find a more suitable class. If you find that dance just isn’t a good fit for you or your child, we will happily withdraw you from the class.
We do ask for a 30-day notice when withdrawing so that we have time to fill the spot.
