18 months to 3 years – GloWorms

GloWorms classes are specially tailored for our littlest movers. These classes are great for both boys and girls, and allow caregivers to have special time with their children.  We include songs, fingerplays, rhythm study, guided movement activities, and basic tumbling skills.

• 45-minute classes
  • Three sessions throughout the dance year
• Ages 18 months through 3 years
  • Must be 18 months old by the beginning of the session
  • The themes, content, and movement emphases in each session will vary, and children are welcome to repeat sessions, as they will gain mastery with repetition.
  • Once children are three years of age and are ready to attend class independently, they can move into a new Fireflies class
• One parent or caregiver attends class and participates with each student
• No worries, they don’t need to be potty trained
• These classes do NOT perform in our spring SPARKS show

3 year-olds – FIREFLIES Creative Movement

Little movers need lots of activity and this is where the action is!  These classes engage both brain and body as we play movement games, tell movement stories, sing songs, explore with props and dress-up items, all while subtly encouraging dance skills.

• Students must be 3 years old by October 15th of the current dance year
• 30-minute class
• These classes participate in our spring SPARKS show

4 year-olds – SPARKLERS Creative Dance

​​These 4 year-olds sparkle with energy and personality. They bring much joy to class and have a longer attention span from just a year before. These classes explore basic movement concepts, creative thinking activities along with basic dance forms. We enhance balance, development, and basic dance skills by incorporating stories, songs, props and more fun!

• Students must be 4 years old by October 15th of the current dance year

These glowing young dancers are leaving their toddler years and becoming youngsters with increased body control. Balance skills, fine- and gross-motor skills are all improving, and we help further the learning. These classes begin with a conceptual ballet base and expand on students’ dance vocabulary and introduce more complicated movement challenges.

• Students must be 5 years old by October 15th of the current dance year
  • This class is geared for older pre-K 5’s who are not yet going to kindergarten

These glorious kindergarten dancers beam with pride and accomplishment! These dancers are ready for a challenge, and we provide a class tailored just for them.  Sunbeams classes begin with a ballet focus, but include all dance genres (Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical) and differentiate them for the more sophisticated learner. We challenge these students to think and create, all while in a supportive environment. Sunbeams dancers must be currently enrolled in kindergarten, as our expectations mirror that of the kindergarten classroom (writing, listening, waiting).  Students complete a Ballet Book throughout the year and end the season with the beginnings of ballet terminology and a full movement vocabulary.

• Participate in the spring FORCE show

SUNBEAMS Optional Tap Add-On

We have found that while many parents and students love the idea of tap, fine motor skills and attention spans at this age make it difficult to master the skills. We offer a brief add-on class to give our younger students that chance to stomp and learn without the pressure of a recital piece. ​​​​These tap classes are scheduled right after the normal Sunbeams class and participants must be currently enrolled in Sunbeams dance to participate.

• TAP Option = 15 minutes of tap class after the regular class
• Non-recital class

These growing and changing students enjoy more movement challenges, build on technique, have fun tumbling and practice basic poses in this fun intro to Martial Arts.

• Students must be currently enrolled in Kindergarten
• 45-minute class
• These classes participate in our spring SPARKS show

4-5 year-olds – LIZARDS Mighty Mites Martial Arts

These students enjoy tumbling, creative teaching methods, and basic poses as they have fun.
