Ballet Program: At all about DANCE, we know that ballet is the basis of all other dance varieties, and having ballet as a foundation will improve technique, coordination, musicality and body awareness. Being able to master basic ballet steps is crucial to performing difficult tricks in other styles. As part of our FORCE program, dancers will progress through each level as they achieve stronger skills, focusing on form, grace, proper body alignment, technique and precision. Questions on placement? View our Ballet Program Flow Chart, and don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
Pointe/Pre-Pointe: As ballet dancers progress, going on pointe shoes is often part of their growth. While pointe isn’t for everyone, at all about DANCE we offer pre-pointe classes to help strengthen the entire body and prepare for pointe work. At all about DANCE, we require dancers to be at least 12 years of age, pass a strength test and take at least 2 ballet classes per week in order to train en pointe.
Take all of your ballet training and apply it to the less rigid style of Contemporary dance! Expand on your knowledge of ballet technique by incorporating new ways of moving and learning new contemporary combinations. You’ll be moving in ways you may have never explored before.
Lyrical is a dance style that combines the technical elements of ballet with the freedom and expressiveness of jazz or modern dance styles. Lyrical focuses on the music and emotion of a song through movement and often tells a story. A strong ballet and jazz foundation enhances the quality of this style of dance.
Jazz dance is a fast-paced combination of modern and ballet, set to upbeat music. Dancers focus on proper dance technique as they gain flexibility, strength, endurance and coordination. A strong background in ballet will aide the jazz dancer as it promotes balance and grace. We encourage dancers to take a ballet class in conjunction with jazz to get the most value from jazz classes.
A popular and energetic form of dance, hip hop allows dancers freedom of movement with structured skills. While hip hop has become a wide range of dance moves, our classes focus on fundamental moves (poppin’, lockin’, freeze techniques) all the while “keeping it clean” for our younger dancers. all about DANCE uses age appropriate music in all classes.
Feel the thrill of making your feet sing! Tap is all about the sounds you make with your feet. When you take tap, you’ll learn how to count rhythmically and tap along to songs with your toes and heels.
We also offer clogging for adults!
all about DANCE is excited to offer tumbling for toddlers through grade schoolers, as well as Cheer/Tumble classes! Learn tumbling basics and some more difficult moves in these classes.
Our studio offers Kuk Sool Won (KSW) Korean Martial Arts for our older students, as well as a Mighty Mites program (part of the SPARKS Program) as a pre-martial arts program for those wanting more than dance or something other than dance.
An excellent introduction to the disciplines of martial arts with a fun and exciting program. Taught by 4th degree black belt, Kuksenim Cindy Redolfi gets our kids ready for the real deal in this weekly 45 minute class. Mighty Mites Dragons are part of our FORCE program and perform in our end of year FORCE show.
